Ingredients

  • 1 - whole leg of lamb
  • 3 - large Potatoes
  • 1 tbsp - Vinegar
  • 2 tsp - pepper
  • 4 - large onions, each chopped into 4 pieces
  • 2 - red chillies, broken into bits
  • 2 - Cloves
  • 2 - Cinnamon
  • Salt - to taste

How to Make Roast Whole Leg Of Lamb With A Hint Of Spice

  • Wash the mutton leg and make deep cuts on it.
  • Rub it well all over with the salt, pepper and vinegar.
  • Place it in a big baking pan. Add the potatoes, onions, red chillies, cinnamon, cloves and sufficient water.
  • Cover with aluminium foil and bake in a moderate oven for about 1 hour 15 minutes or till the meat is tender.
  • Remove the foil and continue roasting till the meat is nice and brown and the potatoes too are roasted well.
  • Serve hot or cold with bread or with spiced rice.
