  • 10 bread slice
  • 50 gms - butter
  • 2 potatoes
  • 8 to 10 french beans
  • 2 carrots
  • 3 tbsp - green peas
  • 1.5 cups - water
  • 1 slice pineapple (tinned)
  • 4 tbsp - mayonnaise
  • 1.5 tsp - pepper
  • salt to taste

How to Make Russian Salad Sandwiches

  • Boil the potatoes and cut them into 1½" cubes. Cool completely.
  • Wash the vegetables and chop the French beans and carrots into 1½" cubes.
  • Take water in a heavy bottomed vessel.
  • Add some salt to the water and keep to boil.
  • Once the water boils add the chopped French beans, carrots and green peas.
  • Boil on a medium flame till the vegetables are almost done.
  • Drain out the water if any and cool completely.
  • Cut the pineapple slice into 1½" cubes.
  • In a bowl mixed the chopped potatoes, vegetables, pineapple, mayonnaise, pepper and little salt to taste.
  • Mix lightly. Keep in fridge to cool for an hour.
  • Trim the sides of the bread.
  • Apply butter to the bread slices.
  • Spread about one to one and half tbsp of the vegetable mayonnaise mixture on a slice of bread.
  • Place another slice on top and press it lightly.
  • Cut diagonally into two halves.
  • Repeat same procedure with the other slices.
