  • 2 cups - all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (room temperature) - Butter
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup - powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup - chopped Walnuts
  • 1/3 cup - Sugar for decoration
  • How to Make Russian Tea Cakes:

    1. Preheat an oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
    2. In a bowl, cream the butter and vanilla essence until the mixture becomes smooth.
    3. Add the powdered sugar and flour and mix well so that it blends into the butter mixture.
    4. Mix in the chopped walnuts.
    5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and flatten them a little.
    6. Place the pieces 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
    7. Bake for 10-12 minutes in the oven.
    8. When it cools, roll in the remaining sugar.
