  • 2 cups - all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (room temperature) - Butter
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup - powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup - chopped Walnuts
  • 1/3 cup - Sugar for decoration

How to Make Russian Tea Cakes

  • Preheat an oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
  • In a bowl, cream the butter and vanilla essence until the mixture becomes smooth.
  • Add the powdered sugar and flour and mix well so that it blends into the butter mixture.
  • Mix in the chopped walnuts.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and flatten them a little.
  • Place the pieces 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes in the oven.
  • When it cools, roll in the remaining sugar.
