  • Palak (Spinach) Leaves- 350 grams
  • Aloo (Potatoes) – 4 nos about 500 grams
  • Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Green Chili – 3 (optional )
  • Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Saag Aloo (Spinach and Potato)
  • How to Make Saag Aloo (Spinach and Potato):

    1. Wash, drain and chop the spinach leaves.
    2. Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into small cubes of 1/2×1/2 inch.
    3. Slit the chillies lengthwise, de-seed if so desired.
    4. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
    5. Add mustard seeds and allow it to sputter.
    6. Add potatoes and stir fir for about 2 to 3 mins till slightly crispy. Stir in the turmeric for a few seconds.
    7. Add palak, you will soon see water releasing, allow it to dry up.
    8. Reduce flame to the lowest setting and allow to cook for 15 mins till it is done.
    9. If you prefer the leaves not soft and blended, then you can take of the flame so that water dries up.
    10. Add green chillies and salt to taste.
