How to Make Saboodana Chivda

  • Use commercial sago chips that are raw.
  • Heat about 1.5 cup oil in a frying pan. Fry the peanuts and cashew till golden, drain keep aside.
  • Fry chillies, drain, add to cashews.
  • Fry sago a little at a time, in very hot oil.
  • Once puffed, drain quickly, so that it does not turn brown.
  • Drain and keep aside in a perforated container, allowing excess oil to drain.
  • Take sago in a large pan or shallow bowl.
  • Sprinkle all dry ingredients over it.
  • Add also fried nuts, etc.
  • Toss with both hands while still hot, to blend well.
  • Cool completely before storing in airtight, dry jars.
  • Serve.
