  • 1 cup - Sago
  • 1 tbsp - Peanuts
  • 1 tbsp - cashews broken
  • 2 - Green chillies chopped
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 4-5 pinch - citric acid powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Sugar powdered
  • Oil to Deep Fried.
  • How to Make Saboodana Chivda:

    1. Use commercial sago chips that are raw.
    2. Heat about 1.5 cup oil in a frying pan. Fry the peanuts and cashew till golden, drain keep aside.
    3. Fry chillies, drain, add to cashews.
    4. Fry sago a little at a time, in very hot oil.
    5. Once puffed, drain quickly, so that it does not turn brown.
    6. Drain and keep aside in a perforated container, allowing excess oil to drain.
    7. Take sago in a large pan or shallow bowl.
    8. Sprinkle all dry ingredients over it.
    9. Add also fried nuts, etc.
    10. Toss with both hands while still hot, to blend well.
    11. Cool completely before storing in airtight, dry jars.
    12. Serve.
