Ingredients

  • 120g - Ground Almonds
  • 220 g - Castor Sugar
  • 2 - Egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp - Saffron mixed with 1/2 tbsp - of warm milk.
  • 20 -Almonds.
  • How to Make Saffron Amaretti:

    1. Combine ground almonds, caster sugar, egg whites and saffron in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer for 3 to 4 mins.
    2. Spoon the mixture into the piping bag fitted with 1 cm plain tube.
    3. Now pipe them in circular form in a greased and lined baking tray.
    4. Place 1 almond on top of each biscuit.
    5. Now cover the tray with foil and refrigerate for 12 hours.
    6. Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius.
    7. Bake for 10 to 12 mins.
    8. Cool in a wire rack.
    9. Serve with milk.
