Ingredients

  • Sago - 2 cups
  • Mashed Potato - 2 cups
  • Coarsely powdered Peanuts - 1.5 cups
  • Rice flour - 1tbsp
  • Sesame seeds - 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chillies - 4
  • A pinch of Asafoetida
  • salt to taste
  • oil to fry.
  • How to Make Sago Murukku:

    1. Soak sago for half an hour. Drain and keep aside.
    2. Grind the chillies with cumin seeds, turmeric powder and asafoetida.
    3. Add mashed potatoes and peanuts and keep aside.
    4. Add rice flour, sago, salt and sesame seeds and knead into a dough.
    5. Place dough in a "Murukku achu" press and press out rounds in to hot oil.
    6. Fry till golden brown and crisp.
    7. Serve hot.
