Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Sago (fine nylon)
  • 1/3 cup - moong dal
  • 3 - Green chillies
  • 5 - cashews
  • 2 tbsp - Coconut (Scraped)
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard
  • 1/2 tsp - Urad Dal
  • 1/2 tsp - Bengal Gram dal
  • 2 tsp - Lemon extract
  • Curry leaves -few leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Sago upma:

    1. Soak sago in water for three hours.
    2. Cook moong dal (do not overcook) and keep aside.
    3. In a pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil and season with mustard, urad dal, Bengal gram dal, cashew, curry leaves and green chillies.
    4. Now add the soaked sago and fry for a few min, till the sago becomes transparent.
    5. Add cooked moong dal, grated coconut, lemon extract and salt to it and mix well.
    6. Serve.
