  • 500 g - sago
  • 10 g - green chillies (paste)
  • 60 g - salt
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 3 litres - water

How to Make Sago vadam

  • Soak sago in a litre of water for 2 hours. Bring the remaining water to a boil.
  • Add the soaked sago to the boiling water, stirring constantly. It will thicken to form a paste.
  • Remove from fire. Add lemon juice, the green chilli paste and salt and mix well.
  • Spread out on a plastic sheet on the terrace.
  • Drop batter by the spoonfuls and pat into round discs.
  • Dry in the sun for two days till you are able to peel off the vadams with ease.
  • Deep fry the crispies and serve.
