Ingredients

  • 500 g - Sago
  • 10 g - Green chillies (paste)
  • 60 g - salt
  • Juice of 2 Lemons
  • 3 litres - water
  • How to Make Sago vadam:

    1. Soak sago in a litre of water for 2 hours. Bring the remaining water to a boil.
    2. Add the soaked sago to the boiling water, stirring constantly. It will thicken to form a paste.
    3. Remove from fire. Add lemon juice, the green chilli paste and salt and mix well.
    4. Spread out on a plastic sheet on the terrace.
    5. Drop batter by the spoonfuls and pat into round discs.
    6. Dry in the sun for two days till you are able to peel off the vadams with ease.
    7. Deep fry the crispies and serve.
