Ingredients

  • 300 g - chicken
  • 50 ml - refined oil
  • 150 g - sliced onions
  • 5 g - whole garam masala
  • ginger-garlic paste
  • 15 g - red chilly powder
  • 2 g - turmeric powder
  • 50 g - fresh tomato puree
  • 10 g - salt
  • 100 g - shoe string potatoes

How to Make Salli Chicken

  • Wash and trim the chicken.
  • In a heavy bottomed pan, heat the refined oil.
  • Add the whole spices and allow to crackle.
  • Add the sliced onion and saute till golden brown.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste. Cook for 3 minutes
  • Add the powdered spices followed by a tsp of water.
  • Cook till the oil appears on top.
  • Add the chicken followed by the fresh tomato puree.
  • Cook covered for 15 mins on a slow heat.
  • Season with salt and serve topped with deep fried shoe string potatoes.
