Ingredients

  • Coriander seeds - 200 gm
  • Dry Red Chillies - 100 gm
  • Black pepper - 25 gm
  • Cumin seeds - 25 gm
  • Channa dal - 25 gm
  • Urad Dal - 25 gm
  • Rice - 25 gm
  • Fenugreek seeds - 10 gm
  • Turmeric - 10 gm
  • Salt - 25 gm
  • Asafoetida - 5 gm
  • Curry leaves - 3 stalks
  • Cloves - 5
  • Ghee for roasting - 2 tsp.
  • How to Make Sambhar Masala:

    1. Mix all ingredients.
    2. Roast the ingredients in a little ghee on low flame till crisp and golden.
    3. When the ingredients exudes a strong spicy aroma, remove from fire and cool.
    4. Pound to a coarse powder, in a mixie.
    5. Use as required.
