Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Sugar
  • 250 gm - soft sandalwood shavings
  • 1 litre - water
  • 4 drops - kewra essence
  • 1/2 tsp - citric acid.
  • How to Make Sandalwood Drink:

    1. Soak sandalwood shavings in water in a large vessel. Cover and leave overnight.
    2. Strain shavings through a muslin cloth, saving water.
    3. Keep water undisturbed for half an hour.
    4. Transfer the water carefully into a deep vessel, retaining the sediments.
    5. Add sugar, heat, stirring gently.
    6. When it comes to a boil, reduce heat simmer for 15 mins.
    7. Take off fire, wait for 5-7 minutes, stir in kewra essence and citric acid.
    8. Bottle when fully cooled to room temperature.
    9. Refrigerate and use as required.
    10. To Use:
    11. Add 2-3 tbsp. of syrup to 250 ml. chilled water.
    12. Stir and serve cold.
