Ingredients

  • For the fish:
  • 5 Sardines - cleaned and scored on both sides
  • 2 tsp - Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp - Salt
  • 1.5 tsp - Haldi
  • 2 - Cloves of Garlic, crushed
  • For the Masala:-
  • 1 - large Onion
  • 2 sprigs - Curry leaves
  • 2 - Dry Red Chillies
  • 1/2 tsp - Haldi
  • 1/2 tsp - Salt
  • Coconut Oil for frying
  • How to Make Sardine Fish Masala Fry:

    1. Marinate the sardines with the ingredients for the fish for about 1 hour.
    2. Then pan fry in hot oil till they are slightly blackened on both sides.
    3. Drain the excess oil from the fish using kitchen papers.
    4. Then in the same oil, add curry leaves and red chillies. Fry a bit.
    5. Add finely chopped onions to the same oil.
    6. Fry till golden brown.
    7. Add 1/2 tsp haldi.
    8. Add salt and the fish and mix well
    9. Serve hot with hot rice, dal, pickles and salad.
