Ingredients

  • For the fish:
  • 5 Sardines - cleaned and scored on both sides
  • 2 tsp - Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp - Salt
  • 1.5 tsp - Haldi
  • 2 - Cloves of Garlic, crushed
  • For the Masala:-
  • 1 - large onion
  • 2 sprigs - Curry leaves
  • 2 - Dry red chillies
  • 1/2 tsp - Haldi
  • 1/2 tsp - Salt
  • Coconut Oil for frying

How to Make Sardine Fish Masala Fry

  • Marinate the sardines with the ingredients for the fish for about 1 hour.
  • Then pan fry in hot oil till they are slightly blackened on both sides.
  • Drain the excess oil from the fish using kitchen papers.
  • Then in the same oil, add curry leaves and red chillies. Fry a bit.
  • Add finely chopped onions to the same oil.
  • Fry till golden brown.
  • Add 1/2 tsp haldi.
  • Add salt and the fish and mix well
  • Serve hot with hot rice, dal, pickles and salad.
