  • 1 kg - sardines
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • 2 tsp - Garlic paste
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 3 onions, sliced finely
  • How to Make Sardines In Tomato Gravy:

    1. Wash the sardines and keep aside.
    2. Heat oil in a pan and saute the onions for a few minutes.
    3. Add the garlic paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and fry for a few minutes.
    4. Add the tomato puree and mix well.
    5. Saute for a few minutes.
    6. Add 1/2 cup of water and bring to boil.
    7. Drop in the sardines and mix well.
    8. Simmer on low heat for about 8 to 10 minutes till the sardines are soft.
    9. Serve with bread or chapattis.
