Sattu ka laddu is a kid-friendly dessert which is popularly made on festivals or on special occasions. This Indian dessert recipe is best to satiate your sweet cravings.

The technique involves dry roasting of wheat till it releases its aroma and turn golden. Make sure that the roasting is done at a low heat properly. Then, sattu is added along with melted ghee and some nuts. The mixture is then rolled into round laddus.

This dessert is particularly famous in the areas of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and is made on festivals like teej.


  • 1.5 cup - roasted Chana dal (daliya, horse gram)
  • 1 cup - whole Wheat
  • 1.5 cup - powdered Sugar
  • 1 cup (+2 tbsp) - pure Ghee
  • 10 - Almonds
  • 10 - Pistachio
  • 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • How to Make Sattu Ka Laddu:

    1. Dry roast wheat in a heavy bottom pan on slow flame for approx. 10 minutes or till a nice aroma starts coming or roast in an oven on low temp till golden.
    2. Let it cool down completely then grind in the mixer to a fine powder.
    3. Now grind the roasted chana dal to a fine powder.
    4. Take both the powders in a big bowl and mix well.
    5. Add crushed almonds and cardamom powder.
    6. Add powdered sugar and melted warm ghee.
