Ingredients

  • 1 kg - crab
  • 2 - big onions finely sliced
  • 4 - big tomatoes chopped
  • 6 tbsps - oil
  • 1 tbsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - Kashmiri chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
  • 1/2 cup - water

How to Make Sea Crabs Hot Fry

  • Heat 3 tbsps of oil and fry the onions till brown.
  • Remove half the fried onions and keep aside.
  • To the remaining half of the onions in the pan, add chopped tomato and continue to fry till soft.
  • Remove from heat and keep aside to cool.
  • Grind the fried onions and tomato to a smooth paste.
  • Heat a deep pan with 3 tbsps oil.
  • When hot, lower the heat. Add the ground paste and fry for 2-3 mins.
  • Add red chilli powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. |Continue to fry the masala for a further 2-3 mins.
  • Add a little water so that it does not burn. Fry till the oil separates.
  • Add crabs and 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook for 8-10 mins or till crabs are cooked and the gravy has thickened.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander and fried onions.
