How to Make Semolina Cake

  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Beat in orange rind and juice.
  • Beat in the eggs and essence.
  • Add semolina, cashew powder, and baking powder. Stir to mix.
  • Place in greased deep ring mould and bake at 220 degrees centigrade for 10 mins.
  • Reduce temperature to 180 degrees centigrade and bake till done (25 mins approx.).
  • Meanwhile, prepare the syrup.
  • When the cake is done, allow to cool in tin for 10 mins.
  • Invert on to a plate.
  • When it is warm, pour the syrup over it.
