Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg - Vermicelli
  • 2 - Onions, chop them finely
  • 2 - Tomatoes
  • 4 - Green chillies
  • 1 tsp - Ginger-garlic paste
  • Coriander, Mint leaves
  • 2 tsp - Curd
  • 1 tsp - Lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1.75 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • Oil
  • salt
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - urad Dal, broken white
  • 1/2 tsp - Bengal Gram Dal
  • Few Curry leaves
  • How to Make Semya Bhath:

    1. In a heavy vessel, pour 3 cups of water and allow it to boil.
    2. Put vermicelli into the boiling water and allow it to cook for 3 mins. Drain and keep it aside.
    3. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, urad and Bengal gram dal, curry leaves and fry.
    4. Add onions and fry till it becomes soft.
    5. Add chopped tomatoes, chopped green chillies, coriander, mint leaves, ginger-garlic paste and fry well.
    6. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, pepper powder and garam masala powder.
    7. Then add curd and lemon juice and cook in a medium flame.
    8. Add cooked vermicelli at the end and mix it well.
