  • 1/2 kg - Yam
  • Coriander leaves - a few sprigs
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup - Toor Dal
  • 4 - Green chilli
  • 2 - Lemon
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • For Seasoning:
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tsp - urad dal.
  • How to Make Senai Masiyal:

    1. Chop the green chillies and keep aside
    2. Finely chop the senai, pressure cook the senai and mash it well and keep aside
    3. Pressure cook the toor dal and mash it well
    4. Mix the cooked and mashed senai along with toor dal
    5. To this add salt, turmeric powder and boil
    6. In a separate pan, add oil, splutter mustard seeds, add urad dal and fry it till it becomes golden colour
    7. To this add chopped green chilli and fry it and remove from flame and add it to the boiling senai masiyal and mix it well
    8. Remove from flame and when the senai masiyal cools add lemon extract and mix it well
    9. Garnish with coriander leaves.
