Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Jaggery, grated
  • 1 cup - Puffed rice
  • 1/4 cup - Sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup - Peanuts
  • 1/2 cup - Quick rolled oats
  • 1 tsp - cardamom powder
  • Ghee for greasing
  • 1/2 cup - Dried fruits like strawberries, apricots, cashew, raisins, walnuts etc.

How to Make Sesame and Oats Bars

  • Heat the sesame on a dry tava, to light brown colour and keep aside.
  • Dry roast the oatmeal for a minute and keep aside.
  • Make the syrup by heating the jaggery with a little water.
  • Adding a little ghee to this will ensure the jaggery does not stick to the bottom.
  • Stir the mix continuously on medium flame.
  • You can alternatively, do the same in microwave for 1-2 minutes on high.
  • Mix all the mentioned ingredients in the jaggery syrup and stir till well mixed.
  • Pour into a greased plate and spread evenly.
  • Cut into squares when it is slightly cooled.
