  • 1 cup - white, black or mixed sesame seeds
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • How to Make Sesame Diyas:

    1. Heat sugar in a heavy bottom pan.
    2. Stir gently. When the sugar dissolves, add in sesame and cardamom, mix.
    3. Take off from fire, mix well, folding with a spatula.
    4. Grease hands generously with oil, take a blob at a time.
    5. Mould over diya mould while it is still hot.
    6. Allow to cool and stiffen.
    7. If desired, fill with chocolate curls or transparent sweetened gelatine and put wicks.
