Ingredients

  • cooked Rice - 4 cup
  • white sesame seeds - 1/4 cup
  • grated Coconut - 1 cup
  • Ghee or oil - 4 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • dry Red Chillies 3, broken into pieces
  • black gram (Urad) Dal - 2 tsp
  • pea nuts - 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Sesame Seed Rice:

    1. Roast sesame seeds in a Kadai till they pop.
    2. Cool and powder.
    3. Mix coconut with sesame seed powder and sprinkle over the cooked rice.
    4. Heat Ghee or oil in the Kadai.
    5. Add mustard seeds.
    6. When they pop, add black gram Dal and peanuts.
    7. When they turn golden brown, add chillies.
    8. Fry for few seconds.
    9. Add the rice and salt to taste. Mix well.
    10. Cover and leave on a low flame for 5 minutes.
    11. Remove from fire and serve hot.
