  • cooked Rice - 4 cup
  • white sesame seeds - 1/4 cup
  • grated Coconut - 1 cup
  • Ghee or oil - 4 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • dry Red Chillies 3, broken into pieces
  • black gram (Urad) Dal - 2 tsp
  • pea nuts - 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste

How to Make Sesame Seed Rice

  • Roast sesame seeds in a Kadai till they pop.
  • Cool and powder.
  • Mix coconut with sesame seed powder and sprinkle over the cooked rice.
  • Heat Ghee or oil in the Kadai.
  • Add mustard seeds.
  • When they pop, add black gram Dal and peanuts.
  • When they turn golden brown, add chillies.
  • Fry for few seconds.
  • Add the rice and salt to taste. Mix well.
  • Cover and leave on a low flame for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from fire and serve hot.
