  • 1 cup - black sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp - chopped Coconut
  • 1/2 cup - grated Jaggery
  • 1 tbsp - Ghee
  • Cashewnuts - a few
  • 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 1 cup - Rice flour
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • For kozhakattai mavu:
  • 3/4 cup - raw Rice
  • 1.25 cup - water
  • 1/4 cup - Milk
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 1/4 tsp - salt
  • How to Make Sesame Seeds Poorna Kozhukattai:

    1. Wash and soak rice in water for 45 minutes.
    2. Drain and spread on paper towel for 5 mins.
    3. Grind thoroughly and sieve to get a smooth and fine powder.
    4. Boil water in a pan with salt, oil and milk.
    5. When water boils, add rice flour.
    6. Remove from flame and mix and knead the rice flour well.
    7. Wrap it in a wet cloth and leave it for 10 mins.
    8. Meanwhile, soak the black sesame seeds in water for 10 mins.
    9. Drain the seeds, spread on a kitchen towel.
    10. When dry roast in a pan and when it starts to splutter remove from fire.
    11. Cool and powder in a grinder.
    12. Add the jaggery and grind it for a while.
    13. Fry the cashew in the ghee and then add it in the sesame mixture and to this add cardamom powder
    14. Make small balls out of this mixture and keep in a plate.
    15. Smear oil in hand and shape rice flour dough into a cup and then in the middle of it add the sesame seeds poorana ball and then close the edges and keep it aside.
    16. Steam cook all these kozhukattai in a Idli plate in the cooker for 5 mins.
