How to Make Sev Shak

  • Heat the oil in a pan.
  • Add the mustard seeds, fenugreek seed and hing.
  • Stir in the ginger-garlic-chilli paste together with the turmeric powder.
  • Add curry leaves and then the tomatoes.
  • Add salt to taste and the sugar too.
  • Let it cook till the oil seeps through. Boil well and then add 2 cups of boiling water.
  • Make a dough of the gram flour (season to taste) and insert in a sev machine and pipe into the boiling tomato soup.
  • Cover and cook for 10 mins. Garnish with coriander.
