Ingredients

  • For Koftas:
  • 500 g - Kheema (minced mutton)
  • 2 - medium sized Onions (cut and fried in oil)
  • 2 tsps - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - finely chopped Coriander and Mint leaves
  • 1 tsp -Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp - Ginger-Garlic paste
  • salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • For Gravy:
  • 50 g - Kaju (Cashew nuts, soak in hot water for an hour and grind into a fine paste)
  • 2 - small size Onions (grind into a paste)
  • 1 tsp - Ginger- Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - dry powder of Coriander and Jeera
  • 1 cup - Cream or Curd or Coconut milk (according to taste)
  • 2 pinches - Saffron (soaked in a tsp of milk)
  • salt to taste
  • Oil

How to Make Shahi Kofta

  • Grind the fried onion and then mix all the ingredients for koftas.
  • Make medium sized balls and deep fry them in oil. Keep them aside.
  • Put some oil in a pan.
  • Then add onion paste, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, dhania, jeera powder, salt and fry for a few minutes. When oil and masala have separated, add paste of cashew and again fry for a minute.
  • Then add curd, cream or coconut milk and a glass of water.
  • Boil the gravy and when it gets thick, add fried koftas and boil for five minutes.
  • Sprinkle saffron soaked in milk and serve with boiled rice or naan.
