Ingredients

  • 1 cup - red kidney beans
  • 1 cup - methi (or kasuri methi)
  • 1 cup - yogurt
  • 1 - medium onion
  • 3 - garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup - cashew nuts
  • 1/4 cup - raisins
  • 1 tbsp - cumin seeds
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 1 tsp - haldi
  • 1 tsp - hing
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - garam masala
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • salt

How to Make Shahi Methi Rajma

  • Soak kidney beans overnight.
  • Wash methi properly. Chop finely.
  • Pressure cook kidney beans and methi together. If you are using kasuri methi pressure cook it.
  • In a pan, pour oil and when it is hot, add cumin seeds, bay leaves, turmeric, hing, chilli powder, garlic ( chopped finely), chopped onion.
  • Saute till onion is golden brown.
  • Add cooked mix of kidney beans and methi.
  • Add garam masala, cashewnuts, raisins and salt according to taste
  • Add one cup of beaten dahi.
