Ingredients

  • 6 - bread slices
  • 3 tbsp - Spicy mint chutney/sauce
  • 3 tbsp - Sweet tamarind chutney/sauce
  • 4 to 6 - 5mm - Thick paneer slices
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • 1 cup - Gram-flour
  • 1/2 cup - Beaten curd/yoghurt
  • 1.5 tbsp - Chaat masala
  • 1/4 tsp - Ajwain
  • 1/4 tsp - Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder| 1/ tsp - Cuminutes powder
  • 1 tsp - Sugar
  • Water to make the batter
  • salt to taste
  • Oil to deep fry

How to Make Shahi-Paneer Bread Pakora

  • Marinate the paneer slices in butter and chaat masala.
  • Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  • Make a smooth batter (ribbon-consistency) of the flour, sugar, salt, yogurt, turmeric, red chilli powder, Cuminutes powder, ajwain with some water.
  • Apply tamarind sauce to 3 slices and the mint sauce to the remaining 3.
  • Place a paneer slice between two slices, a slice with tamarind sauce and the one with the mint sauce.
  • Repeat for the remaining bread and paneer.
  • Cut into half or diagonally into triangles.
  • Now wet your hands and press each sandwich to ensure the slices stick together.
  • Heat oil in a deep-frying vessel.
  • Now dip the cut pieces /triangles gently into the batter and coat it evenly.
  • Deep-fry it in the hot oil.
  • Fry until a golden-brown on both sides.
  • Drain on paper towel.
  • Serve with chutney/ sauce.
