Ingredients

  • 250 g - Wheat flour
  • 100 g - Maida
  • 2 tsp - Sugar
  • 1 tsp - baking powder
  • 1 tsp - Yeast
  • 1 tsp - Onion seeds
  • 1/2 cup - Ghee
  • 1 tsp - Ajwain
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 1.5 cup - buttermilk for kneading flour
  • 1/2 cup - warm water
  • How to Make Shahi Parathas:

    1. Sieve the flours and baking powder together. Set aside.
    2. Blend yeast and half cup of warm water.
    3. Keep in a warm place for about 1/2 an hour or till it ferments.
    4. Mix the yeast mixture into the flour with ajwain. Knead well with buttermilk and ghee.
    5. Keep the dough aside for about 45 mins for it to rise.
    6. Knead again and divide into balls. Roll out.
    7. Top with onion seeds and bake or fry them. Tastes great with tandoori chicken.
