Ingredients

  • For Masala:
  • 100 gm - Poppy Seeds
  • 50 gm - fresh grated Coconut
  • 2 - Onion, medium size (ground to a paste)
  • 2 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • Red Chilli powder, according to taste
  • 3/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala
  • salt to taste
  • 2 - medium Tomatoes finely chopped
  • Green coriander
  • 2 - green chilli, slit
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Butter and green coriander for garnish
  • Chopped vegetables or Meat - 2 cups
  • How to Make Shahi Subzi:

    1. Soak poppy seeds overnight, strain and make paste by adding coconut.
    2. Take sauce pan or kadai, add oil, ginger-garlic along with onion paste and fry till golden brown.
    3. Now add all the sukha masala i.e., salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, dhania powder, and stir till it mixes well.
    4. Simmer the gas, add to it the poppy seed coconut paste and stir it till you see the oil separated from the masala.
    5. Add tomatoes, green coriander and green chillies, and mix it to the masala well.
    6. Add water as per you requirement and vegetables to it.
    7. Garnish with green coriander and serve.
