  • 750 gms - Milk
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 6 tbsps - Sugar
  • 5 slices of bread
  • 3 tbsp - roasted nuts
  • Nutmeg for flavour
  • Saffroned Cream
  • Some Almonds and Pistachios for taste and decoration
  • How to Make Shahi Tukra:

    1. Remove the crusts of the slices and cut into flour squares each.
    2. Warm the frying pan, add spoonful of ghee, brown four or six squares at a time, turning over to brown both sides evenly.
    3. Repeat the process till all the squares have been browned.
    4. Fry nuts and keep aside with the squares.
    5. In the same pan, add milk and let it evaporate.
    6. When the quantity is reduced to half, add sugar, stirring well.
    7. Add the fried pieces of bread taking care not to overlap one over the other.
    8. Boil for a minute or two, remove from heat.
    9. Flavour with nutmeg powder.
    10. Serve cold decod with nuts, cream etc.
