  • 1 cup - Shallots (sambar vengayam)
  • 2 - Red Chillies
  • 1 - Green chillies
  • 1 - Tamarind (blueberry size)
  • 1 tsp - Urad Dal
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp - Oil
  • How to Make Shallot Chutney:

    1. Heat oil a pan add the urad dal and red chillies as well as green chilly in hot oil and fry them until they turn brown.
    2. Add the shallots to the oil and stir them continuously until they turn translucent, add the blue berry size tamarind to the hot vegetables and turn off the stove.
    3. Keep it aside and let them cool.
    4. Grind them finely in a mixie with enough salt and without water and serve.
