Ingredients

  • rava - 1/2 cup
  • sugar - 1/2 cup
  • water (boiled) - 1 cup
  • pineapple chunks - 1/2 cup (optional)
  • cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  • yellow colour - 1 pinch
  • ghee - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • cashew nuts - 2 tsp
  • raisins - 2 tsp

How to Make Sheera (Kesari Bath)

  • Heat about 1.5 tbsp of ghee. Add cashew nuts, then add raisins. Add the rava and fry on medium flame till you feel a nice aroma and the rava becomes a little crisp.
  • Add pineapple chunks and fry for a few seconds.
  • Add hot water to this carefully as it might splash.
  • Mix well, cover and let it cook on a slow flame.
  • Once the rava is cooked, add sugar and stir well and see no lumps form in it.
  • Add the yellow colour and stir for some more time until it starts forming like a ball.
  • Add the remaining ghee in between (can add more ghee if desired), add the cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Grease a tray (about 8-10") with little ghee.
  • Spread it neatly tapping all around.
  • Cut into squares or diamonds.
