Ingredients

  • 1 lb - Shrimp (cleaned)
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 2 - onions, medium size (chopped)
  • 1 - Tomato (chopped)
  • 1/2 inch - Ginger (finely chopped)
  • 2 Cloves - Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 2 - Green chillies (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup - fresh Coconut (grated)
  • coriander
  • 3-4 pieces - kokum
  • salt
  • 4 tbsp -oil
  • How to Make Shrimp Masala (Kolambiche Suke):

    1. Clean the shrimp and apply salt, a pinch of turmeric and chilli powder.
    2. Take 4 tbsp oil in a pan. When hot, add the onions, ginger, garlic and green chillies - saute the mix.
    3. Add tomatoes and saute well.
    4. Add the shrimp and fry till the shrimp is cooked.
    5. Grind coconut with a little water and add to shrimp. Cook with lid closed.
    6. When curry is well-cooked, add kokum and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with plain rice or chapattis.
