Ingredients

  • 1 lb - Shrimp (cleaned)
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 2 - onions, medium size (chopped)
  • 1 - tomato (chopped)
  • 1/2 inch - ginger (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves - garlic (finely chopped)
  • 2 - green chillies (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup - fresh coconut (grated)
  • coriander
  • 3-4 pieces - kokum
  • salt
  • 4 tbsp -oil

How to Make Shrimp Masala (Kolambiche Suke)

  • Clean the shrimp and apply salt, a pinch of turmeric and chilli powder.
  • Take 4 tbsp oil in a pan. When hot, add the onions, ginger, garlic and green chillies - saute the mix.
  • Add tomatoes and saute well.
  • Add the shrimp and fry till the shrimp is cooked.
  • Grind coconut with a little water and add to shrimp. Cook with lid closed.
  • When curry is well-cooked, add kokum and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with plain rice or chapattis.
