  • 1 cup Bengal Gram (chana) dal
  • 1 cup shrimps, cleaned and chopped
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 1.5 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp green chilli, minced
  • 2 tsps Ginger Garlic paste
  • 2 tsps fennel (saunf), crushed
  • salt to taste
  • oil to fry
  • How to Make Shrimp Vada:

    1. Soak the dal with red chillies in water for 2 hours.
    2. Drain and grind to stiff, coarse paste.
    3. Add rest of the ingredients except the oil.
    4. Take 4 round lumps and flatten to 1.5 cm thick discs.
    5. Deep fry in moderately hot oil till golden brown.
    6. Serve hot with chutney.
