Ingredients

  • 1 cup - grated Coconut (fresh or dry)
  • 5 - Red Chillies
  • 10 Cloves - Garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp - Jeera
  • 5 tbsp - Toor Dal
  • 2 - fresh Tomatoes
  • 1/2 tbsp - Tamarind paste
  • 5 tbsp - cooking oil
  • salt
  • How to Make Simple Garlic Chutney:

    1. Heat oil in a small pan.
    2. Roast garlic, jeera, red chillies, toor dal one at a time.
    3. Cut tomatoes into small pieces and cook for 2 minutes in the above pan after roasting all the ingredients.
    4. Mix coconut, roasted stuff, tomatoes, tamarind and salt in a blender with small amount of water so that chutney can be a fine thick blend.
    5. Enjoy with yogurt rice, chapati, dosa and idli.
