Ingredients

  • 2 pomfrets
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tbsp - salt
  • 1 - grated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 4 - garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 8 pieces red chillies
  • 1 tbsp - coriander leaves
  • 3 tsp - tamarind water
  • 5 cups - water
  • 1 onion
  • 2 green chillies

How to Make Simple Goan Fish Curry

  • Cut the pomfret into desired number of pieces.
  • Add salt, lime juice to fish and marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Grind coconut, cumin seeds, garlic, turmeric, red chillies, coriander leaves, with tamarind water and 1/2-cup water to a paste.
  • Add remaining water to paste and place on fire.
  • Add sliced onions and slit green chillies to the gravy.
  • Once it boils, add marinated fish.
  • Cook until fish is done and serve hot with unpolished rice.
