  • green chillies - 15
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Garlic - 10 flakes
  • Corn starch or Corn flour - 1 cup
  • Oil
  • Soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
  • Tomato ketchup/sauce - 3 tbsp
  • Water - as per need
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Simple Gobi Manchurian

  • Cut cauliflower into tiny pieces and put it in a vessel.
  • Apply salt to the cut pieces and mix.
  • Cut half of the green chillies into small pieces and half of them lengthwise.
  • Add the small pieces to the cut cauliflower.
  • Cut ginger and garlic to small pieces. Add half of it to the above mixture.
  • Add corn starch/corn flour to the above mixture too.
  • Mix well and try to form small dumplings out of it.
  • If the mixture is not sticky, add some more corn starch or add some water.
  • Keep in mind that the mixture shouldn't have a lot of flour in it.
  • Take some oil for frying. After the oil is hot, add these small dumplings and fry till they are light brown or crunchy.
  • After you finish frying, take about 2 tbsp of oil in a wok/frying pan.
  • Add the green chillies cut lengthwise and the remaining half of the ginger and the garlic. Fry for some time.
  • Then add the fried dumplings to it.
  • Add all the sauces and water. If you want gravy, add around 2 cups of water, or if you want it dry, just add 1/2 cup of water. Add salt as per the taste.
  • Serve hot with fried rice.
