  • 1 cup Gram Flour
  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1 - onion
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsps - yoghurt (curd)
  • Oil

How to Make Simple Instant Dosa

  • Mix both flours by sieving together with salt and chilli powder.
  • Cut onions into small pieces.
  • Add water a little at a time to make a not-too-thin batter. Add yogurt.
  • Heat a thick dosa griddle or non-stick flat pan (tawa).
  • Pour a ladleful of batter in centre and spread thinly like pancake.
  • When batter has cooked a bit, drizzle some fat over it.
  • Allow bottom to become golden and remove with a sharp edged spatula.
  • Roll or fold in half. Do not press down.
  • Serve hot with chutney, ketchup or relish.
  • Repeat as required for remaining batter.
