Ingredients

  • 250 gms - Potatoes
  • 300 gms - Tomatoes
  • 100 gms - Paneer
  • 50 gms- Maida
  • 100 gms - Onion
  • 50 gms - Cashewnuts
  • 10 gms - Cumin seeds
  • 25 gms - Khowa
  • 10 gms - Poppy seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Sugar
  • 100 ml - Oil
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 1 tsp - Cream
  • 1 bunch - Coriander
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Simple Malai Kofta

  • Boil and mash the potatoes, add salt and make a soft dough.
  • For Filling:
  • Grate paneer and khowa and to that add coriander, cashewnuts and cream and keep it aside.
  • Make round balls of the dough.
  • Flatten them on the palm and form kofta shapes.
  • Roll in maida and fry.
  • For Gravy:
  • Grind tomatoes and green chillies into a fine paste.
  • Roast all the spices on a tawa and grind them into a powder.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, add onion paste, tomato, green chilli paste and fry till it turns slightly golden brown.
  • Add water and simmer, stirring continuously.
  • Then add the koftas and just stir it once.
  • Garnish it with cream, ginger juliennes and fresh coriander leaves.
  • Serve it hot with butter naan or tandoori roti.
