  • 8 to 10 - mutton chops
  • 1 cup - thick curd
  • 1 tsp - ginger paste
  • 2.5 tsp - garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1.5 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 - onion, sliced
  • Whole garam masala ( a few pieces of bay leaf, dalchini, small cardamom, cloves)
  • Deep fried cashew nuts - ground into a paste
  • 5 tbsp - ghee

How to Make Simple Mutton Chops

  • Heat ghee in a pan. Add the spices for the garam masala.
  • When it splutters, add the sliced onions and fry till golden brown.
  • Add ginger and garlic paste and fry till fragrant.
  • Add the mutton chops and saute.
  • In the bowl of curd, add the turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder and whisk it. Pour it on the chops.
  • Stir for 3 minutes.
  • Add the cashew paste and enough water to cover the chops.
  • Cover and simmer.
  • When it is half-cooked, add salt and stir.
  • Cook till done.
