Ingredients

  • 300-350g - potato, peeled and cut into 1-1.5 inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Salt
  • 2 tsp - cumin, crushed roughly
  • A pinch of Asafoetida
  • A pinch of Turmeric powder
  • 10 Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - pepper powder/red chilli powder
  • 3 peeled and crushed Garlic Cloves
  • 2 tsp - chopped, Coriander leaves
  • How to Make Simple potato fry:

    1. Boil potato in salted water for 3 to 4 min till it is just tender; drain and keep aside.
    2. Heat oil, add asafoetida, turmeric powder, curry leaves, crushed garlic cloves and cumin and fry for a min.
    3. Add the chopped potato and fry them till crisp and golden brown in colour.
    4. Sprinkle red chilli powder/pepper powder, toss and cook on low flame for 1 to 2 mins.
    5. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves, stir and remove.
