Ingredients

  • 5 - potatoes.
  • 3 - green chillies.
  • 2 tsp - oil.
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric.
  • 10 g - ginger.
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard.
  • 1/2 tsp - urad dal.
  • 2 tsp - lemon juice.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing.

How to Make Simple Potato Podimas

  • Boil and peel the potatoes. Mash them well.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and urad dal and wait till the mustard splutters.
  • Add green chillies, ginger, mashed potatoes and add turmeric and salt.
  • Gently saute the potatoes from time to time.
  • Remove from the stove, add lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • This goes very well with rice and chapattis.
