Ingredients

  • 5 - potatoes.
  • 3 - green chillies.
  • 2 tsp - oil.
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric.
  • 10 g - ginger.
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard.
  • 1/2 tsp - urad dal.
  • 2 tsp - Lemon juice.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing.
  • How to Make Simple Potato Podimas:

    1. Boil and peel the potatoes. Mash them well.
    2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and urad dal and wait till the mustard splutters.
    3. Add green chillies, ginger, mashed potatoes and add turmeric and salt.
    4. Gently saute the potatoes from time to time.
    5. Remove from the stove, add lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
    6. This goes very well with rice and chapattis.
