Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - all purpose flour (maida)
  • 1/2 cup - whole Wheat flour
  • 1 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp - baking soda
  • 1 tbsp - Sugar
  • 1/4 cup - Butter (cubed) (room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp - Walnut (chopped) and Raisins (mixed)
  • 1/4 cup and 2 tbsp - buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp - Sugar (to sprinkle on the top)
  • 1/4 tsp - salt

How to Make Simple Scones

  • Preheat the oven for 42 degrees.
  • In a large bowl combine two flours, salt, sugar, baking powder and soda, butter until the mixture resemble coarse meal.
  • Mix in all the nuts raisins, 1/4 cup buttermilk with the fork gather into a ball and knead for about 2 mins.
  • Roll and cut it out into 3/4 inch triangles.
  • Bake in the centre of the oven for 12-15 mins until nice and brown.
  • Serve it with clotted butter, jam or honey for breakfast or tea-time.
