Ingredients

  • 2 cups - spinach, chopped into fine pieces
  • 2 cups - chickpea flour (senagapindi, besan)
  • 1 - small onion, chopped fine or lengthwise (optional)
  • some green chillies
  • pinch - Soda
  • cilantro leaves (optional)
  • salt - to taste
  • oil - 2 tbsp

How to Make Sizzling Spinach Pakoda

  • Mix together all the ingredients except oil to make a thick paste. Do not add too much water. Keep aside.
  • Pour oil in a pan and when it is hot, take small portions of the batter and drop carefully into the hot oil.
  • Deep fry until they turn into golden brown.
  • Then transfer them into a plate lined with a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Repeat the same process with rest of the batter.
  • Transfer all the deep fried pakodas into a serving plate and enjoy with desired sauce or dip.
