Ingredients

  • 2 - medium size firm Tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 cup - soft Jaggery (or 1/2 cup powdered sugar)
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 or 2 - Bay Leaves
  • 1 - small Cinnamon stick
  • 3 to 4 - cashew nuts, crushed
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 cup - water
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • How to Make Sizzling Sweet Tomato Chutney:

    1. Chop the tomatoes and keep aside.
    2. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, bay leaves and cinnamon stick. Let them splutter.
    3. Now add the chopped tomatoes, salt, chilli powder and saute for some time.
    4. Add water and jaggery/sugar and cook till the tomatoes become soft and the chutney becomes thick in consistency.
    5. Take from fire, add the crushed cashewnuts and serve.
