Ingredients

  • 1 - tender snake gourd
  • 1/4 - coconut, ground
  • 5-6 - green chillies
  • 2 - cloves
  • 2 inch - cinnamon
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • 1 - red chilli
  • 1/2 tsp - jeera
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  • curry leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil

How to Make Snake gourd fry

  • Cut snake gourd into 3/4 inch pieces.
  • Mix it with a little salt and after keeping for a while, squeeze out the water.
  • Heat 2 tsps oil in a kadai and add urad dal, jeera and mustard seeds and red chilli.
  • Once dal becomes slightly red put curry leaves and snake gourd pieces.
  • Place a lid on top and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Make powder with cloves, cinnamon, green chillies, coconut.
  • Add this mixture into the snake gourd and continue cooking for another 5 to 10 minutes on slow fire without the lid.
  • Serve the curry with rice.
