  • 2 cups - Snake gourd (chopped)
  • 1 - Onion (chopped)
  • 3- Green chillies (slit opened)
  • 1/4 cup - Freshly grated coconut
  • 1 tsp - Mustard seeds+urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • Few curry leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil

How to Make Snake gourd Poriyal

  • Heat enough oil, splutters mustard seeds, urad dal and cumin seeds, add chopped onions, slit open green chillies and curry leaves, saute until the onions turn translucent.
  • Immediately add the chopped snake gourd and salt, stir for few minutes in high flame and simmer, sprinkle some water, cover the pan with the lid, stir occasionally until the vegetables get cooked.
  • Finally add the grated coconut, cook for few seconds and turn off the stove.
  • Serve hot with rice.
