Sooji ka cheela is an appetizing Indian recipe very famous among vegetarians. It looks almost like a dosa and is crispy yet scrumptious.

This cheela is eaten as main course with chutney and sauce. It can be easily made on your regular tawa or dosa pan. The sooji ka cheela, as the name says, is made up of sooji, also called as rawa. The sooji mixture along with other spices is left to ferment and that is what contributes to the taste.

  • 2 cups - Rawa
  • 1 cup - Yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup - water
  • Chopped vegetables (onion, tomato, capsicum)
  • 1 - grated Carrot
  • 1/4 bowl - peas
  • Coriander
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • How to Make Sooji ka cheela:

    1. Mix rawa, curd and water. Keep aside for at least 1 hour for fermentation. Add all the vegetables and coriander.
    2. Mix properly.
    3. Can also add green chillies for spice.
    4. Now add salt and pepper according to the taste.
    5. Heat a non-stick tawa.
    6. Spread little butter/ oil over the tawa once heated.
    7. Now spread the mixture carefully over the tawa.
    8. Once cooked properly, turn over and let it get crisp.
    9. Serve immediately with sauce/green chutney.
