Ingredients

  • Sear or Pomfret slices (1/4 inch thick) - 1/2 kg
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 2 tsp or to taste
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Tamarind extract - 1 tbsp
  • Rava or Rice flour for coating
  • Oil to deep fry

How to Make Southern Fried Fish

  • Wash the fish and pat dry.
  • Mix ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder, tamarind extract and smear it on the fish slices. Leave to marinate for 20-30 mins.
  • Roll each slice in rice flour or rava.
  • Deep fry in oil till done.
  • Serve hot.
