Ingredients

  • 1 cup - soy bean
  • 2 cups - water
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1 tbsp -oil
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Jeera
  • 1/4 tsp - Urad Dal
  • 1 sprig - Curry leaves
  • For Coconut mixture:
  • 1 cup - grated Coconut
  • 6 Cloves - garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • How to Make Soy bean Sukke - Thoran:

    1. Wash and soak soy bean in 2 cups of water for 6 hours or overnight.
    2. Pressure cook it for 15 minutes with salt.
    3. In a wide pan, heat oil. Add mustard seeds to it.
    4. When they begin to crackle, add jeera and urad dal to it.
    5. Saute for 1 -2 minutes. Add curry leaves and stir well for 2 minutes.
    6. Add boiled soy bean and coconut mixture to it.
    7. Add salt if needed. Cover it with a lid and cook on low to medium heat for 10 - 12 minutes or until it is done.
    8. Serve it as a side dish with rice.
